Karachi: The recent Karachi Boat Club Inter-School Regatta (KBCISR)-2009 was the first event of its kind in Pakistan, where 10 schools from Karachi competed for the Ikram Cup.
Through the organisation of the regatta, the club hoped to create a rowing culture and community, develop rowing skills through healthy competition and prepare local teams for national and international rowing competitions.
Schools including The Karachi Grammar School, The Lyceum School, The International School, British Overseas, Fatima Jinnah Public School, CAS, Habib Public School, St. Patricks High School and Bai Virbaiji Suparivala Parsi High School participated in the event.
The participating schools will compete with international teams in the KBCISR-2010 for the championship cup by taking part in indoor rowing events (500 meters, 2,000 meters), single scull events, double scull events, pair events, fours events and the quads event. The news
